What is augmentation?
What is augmentation?
Augmentation charges are additional fees that apply when our water and wastewater network needs to be expanded to support current and future development. These charges cover the impact of new developments on our infrastructure and are in addition to the standard land development fees.
Starting from 1 July 2024, augmentation charges will apply to all new allotments within the Greater Adelaide Region (GAR) that can be serviced by SA Water.
Key points:
- Augmentation charges apply to both residential and commercial developments.
- Fees are included in the connection invoice for most developments.
- Some exclusions apply, such as for certain not-for-profit developments, apartments, and areas outside the GAR.
- Developers can defer payment, with a caveat placed on the property title until payment is made.
