Commercial activities
If you wish to undertake a commercial activity in our reservoirs, please note that the following requirements should be met:
- No exclusive use of the site will be considered (i.e. other operators may be offering the same service).
- The operation will not include any permanent structures or footprint on SA Water land.
- The operation cannot negatively impact on the experience or access of other visitors to the site or SA Water operations, and would need to be complementary to the public use of the area.
- Any agreement would be considered a trial arrangement, with provision for review, and no guarantee of extension.
- Any agreement would be subject to a satisfactory safety and environmental report.
- No access (vehicle or pedestrian) will be permitted beyond current authorised access areas. This does include the car park for the “pick up/drop off” using vehicles, and the launch area for the kayaks.
- The operation will only be able to be permitted during opening hours (no after-hours access) and while the reservoir is opened (for example, the reservoir is closed on fire ban days).
- All existing SA Water conditions of access would need to be adhered to, and this would form part of any induction procedure for hirers.
- An annual licence fee would be payable.
- Have in place suitable public risk insurance and indemnify SA Water from all actions etc associated with the hire operations. Standard cover required is $20 million.
- Capacity to develop detailed safety and environment plan related to the hire operations. (please find here examples of this plan)
- Completion of an onsite-induction and any other requirements as stipulated by SA Water.
Please review the above requirements. If you are able to meet them and wish to progress, please complete the Expression of Interest Form (EOI), so your request can be assessed:
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) to conduct commercial activities at SA Water Reservoirs
Once we receive your application and required documentation, we will be better placed to assess your proposed access and, while there is no guarantee of any formalised arrangement, we can discuss your proposal and a potential way forward.
All proposed activities will be rigorously assessed to ensure they are aligned to SA Water’s safety, water quality, environmental and operational values.
If you have any queries or concerns regarding the suitability of your proposed activity, please email Businessdevelopmentaccounting@sawater.com.au.
