What size connection or meter do I need?
When applying for a new connection or altering an existing one, you can nominate the desired service size on your application form, or we can recommend the most suitable size for your needs. Connection types and sizes vary based on your property, where the connection will be located, and the intended use (water or wastewater).
Water connection sizes
- Available sizes: 20mm, 25mm, 40mm, 50mm, and larger (subject to approval).
- The appropriate size depends on the property’s water demand and other factors.
Wastewater connection sizes
- Available sizes: 100mm, 150mm, and larger (subject to approval).
- The size is determined by the number of fixture units on the property.
- For a standard residential house, 100mm is the typical size.
- Larger sizes (150mm and above) may be necessary for larger properties or special conditions and will require approval.
