Eyre Peninsula water efficiency rebate scheme - Terms and Conditions
This document outlines the terms and conditions for all rebates under the EYRE PENINSULA (“EP”) WATER EFFICIENCY REBATES, from the South Australian Water Corporation Pty Ltd (“SA Water”) (the “EP rebate”).
EP rebates are to incentivise the replacement low efficiency water products with more efficient water devices in the EP and will be available from 2 December 2024 until June 30, 2026, or as otherwise advised.
Eligibility:
Applicants who are eligible are:
- Residential and non-residential property owners with an SA Water account on the EP, southwest of Iron Knob and east of Penong (including Penong), within one of the eligible post codes.
- Tenants residing on the EP, within one of the eligible post codes, when applying for pool covers, irrigation timers/controllers, and washing machines.
- Non-SA Water customers who own a property on the EP and are supplied with water from third parties who are SA Water customers within one of the eligible post codes on the EP.
Eligible postcodes for the EP rebate scheme are: 5602, 5603, 5604, 5605, 5606, 5607, 5611, 5670, 5630, 5631, 5632, 5633, 5640, 5641,, 5642, 5655, 5671, 5680, 5690, 5661, 5660, 5654, 5653, 5652, 5651, 5650.
The EP rebates are not available to:
- Strata companies.
- Managing agents.
- Commercial home builders or land developers.
- Businesses or charities which are under administration or foreclosure.
- Tenants when applying for rebates on showerheads and toilet suites.
- New building construction, extensions or renovations
Payment Options:
Rebates will be paid to eligible applicants. On approval, payment will be made as a credit on your water bill. If you are owner of the property, SA Water will credit the rebate to your SA Water account. This can reduce your current balance or your next bill. You can also request the rebate to be refunded as an EFT from your bill after the rebate is paid.
If you're not the property owner, SA Water will apply the rebate to a temporary account. You can also request a refund to be paid via Electronic Funds Transfer.
The following alternatives apply for payment of the EP rebates to successful applicants:
- Rebates can be credited to the applicants next bill on an SA Water Account (SA Water account holders only)
Or
- SA Water can pay the EP rebate by electronic funds transfer after the rebate has been approved and the applicant has contacted SA Water to provide bank details.
Products:
All receipts for eligible products purchased must be dated on or after 2 December 2024. For lay-by purchases of eligible products, the receipt must show a final payment on or after 2 December 2024.
In some cases, the EP rebate also covers the cost of plumbing services where SA Water Certificate of Compliance from a licensed plumber is provided.
Eligible products are:
- Shower heads
- Washing machines
- Dualflush toilets
- Swimming pool/spa cover
- Irrigation timer /Irrigation controller Wi-Fi
Eligibility criteria:
- Products must be for personal or business use only and must not be resold.
- Products must replace an existing product of lower water efficiency and must be installed and operational before you can claim the rebate
- Dual flush toilets, washing machines, and shower heads must have a minimum of WELS 4-star rating. Visit Water Rating | Australian Government for more information.
- Pools covers and irrigation products require a Smart Approved WaterMark or be Smart Drop Certified. Visit https:// https://thewaterconservancy.org/smart-drop-certified
The EP rebates are not available for:
- Free products, for example if they are won through a promotion.
- Rented products.
- Leased or hired products.
- Products that form part or all of an insurance claim.
- Products that are purchased second hand, unless the product meets the eligibility criteria. (except washing machines)
- Shower heads and dual flush toilet for new houses or home extensions.
- Previously claimed products
Limits:
- Limits apply for the amount of rebates received for each eligible product.
- Quantity limits apply for each applicant.
- Businesses, schools, local government, sporting clubs and charities wishing to receive a rebate for items in excess of the quantity limits will be required to undergo a water efficiency assessment.
- Rebates for businesses and charities may be limited following a water efficiency assessment.
Applicants:
The applicant must provide:
- A completed application form which is available on the SA Water website
- A copy/ies (scan or photo) of the original tax invoice or receipts stating the date and place of purchase, make and model of product purchased, receipt number showing payment in full
- Details of the delivery address (where applicable)
- A photo of the installed product (excluding toilets)
- A detailed plumber’s invoice for toilet installations with an Electronic Certificate of Compliance (eCoC)
- ABN number (for business applicants).
Applications will not be accepted if they are incomplete or do not have legible receipts uploaded.
Applicants must keep the original receipt, as proof of purchase.
SA Water reserves the right to request the original receipt for compliance purposes.

General:
SA Water will not be responsible for items lost or delayed in the mail, nor any payment delayed due to incorrect rebate applications.
SA Water reserves the right to conduct field/site inspections to verify compliance with these terms and conditions. In case of a breach, the rebate amount may need to be repaid to SA Water.
SA Water accepts no liability for the type of product, the performance, quality or installation of any product or equipment eligible for this rebate. The applicant indemnifies SA Water for any liability or claim arising in relation to a product they have purchased and installed in order to claim a rebate.
SA Water and its employees have taken all reasonable care to accurately and correctly convey the scope of the rebates and the applicant’s entitlements under the rebates and shall not be liable for any inadvertent errors. Furthermore, SA Water does not assert that the rebates are in all cases appropriate for every resident.
SA Water reserves the right to alter or change the terms and conditions of the rebates or to cancel the rebates at any time.
Information provided on the application form may be used to measure and monitor the success of the rebates. Rebate recipients consent to and recognise that SA Water may contact them to conduct research about the products purchased.

All rebates payable include GST.
Shower heads
Limits: Rebates are available for up to 3 showerheads in a residential and business property to a maximum of $100 for each shower head. If the purchase price for the shower head is less than $100, an applicant may apply for a rebate of the actual purchase price.
The applicant must ensure suitability of the shower head for their purposes. Low-flow shower heads may not be suitable for use with all plumbing systems. This is because such shower heads rely on mains water pressure to work. Some instantaneous type and gravity- fed hot water systems are low pressure systems. If you have a low-pressure hot water system you do not need a water efficient shower head as your hot water system is already water efficient.
Dual Flush Toilets
Limits: An applicant may apply for 1 rebate per replacement dual flush toilet in a residential or business property to a maximum of $250 per replaced dual flush toilet. The applicant can claim rebates for up to two dual flush toilets per property. The rebate is available for the cost of the dual flush toilet and can include the plumbing services required for installation.
To be eligible the applicant must be replacing an existing toilet with a flushing capacity greater than 6 litre full flush and 3 litre half flush.
‘Dual flush toilet refers to the pan and cistern. Rebates are not available for replacement of the cistern only.
A detailed plumber’s invoice must be provided including details of the dual flush toilet which was replaced.
The toilet suite must be installed by a licensed plumber and the application must be submitted with an Electronic Certificate of Compliance (eCoC) from a licensed plumber.
Washing Machines
Limits: An applicant may apply for 1rebate per property to a maximum of $400. If the cost of the washing machine is less than $400 the actual amount will be paid.
The washing machine must feature a WELS rating of at least 4 stars or more to be eligible for the rebate. WELS is Australia’s national mandatory water efficiency and labelling standards. For more information about the WELS scheme visit www.waterrating.gov.au
The washing machine must be purchased, installed and operational for the rebate to be claimed.
Irrigation Timers/Controllers
Limits: An applicant may apply for up to 2 rebates of $50 for an irrigation timer and/or up to 2 rebates of $150 for an irrigation controller per property, when choosing one of each irrigation products a limit of 2 products will apply per property.
Irrigation timers and Wi-Fi irrigations/controllers that are eligible for the rebate include, mechanical and Wi-Fi/blue tooth timers, logic or computer-controlled timers.
Irrigation timers/controllers must always be used in conjunction with any water restrictions in place for your area.
All irrigation timers/controllers must carry a Smart Approved WaterMark or Smart Drop Certified.
Pool/Spa Covers
Limits: An applicant may apply for 1 rebate per property to a maximum of $300.
If the cost of the pool/spa cover is less than $300 the applicant may apply for the actual amount.
All pool covers must carry a Smart Approved WaterMark or Smart Drop Certified.
