A sensory garden, a sustainable garden exhibition and an educational stage performance featuring underground water systems and a sassy frog are among the eight successful recipients of SA Water's Community Partnerships Program for 2023-24.
The annual program provides up to $10,000 funding each to grassroots organisations delivering projects that involve water sustainability, community wellbeing and environmental outcomes across South Australia.
SA Water's Manager of Brand and Community Marketing Kellie McDonald said the partnerships demonstrate the important role water plays in society and the environment, to maintaining public health, growing food, and supporting jobs and economic development.
“This program is part of our ongoing commitment to work collaboratively with grassroots organisations to achieve our shared vision of a sustainable future,” Kellie said.
"We received 89 applications for this year’s program and narrowing the field down to our final list was difficult, as there was an amazing range of projects.
“We are thrilled to partner with these exceptional groups to support the important work they are doing to create sustainable, resilient communities across South Australia.
"Our partners this year have programs that create tangible experiences around the environment and sustainability for their communities across the state, and we can't wait to support these eight deserving recipients throughout the next year as their events and projects come to fruition.”
