Sustainably reducing our operational energy expenses help us keep water and sewerage charges as low and stable as possible, and is one way we can contribute to easing cost of living pressures for our customers.

Powering our drinking water and wastewater pumping and treatment operations requires a lot of energy. That energy is our largest operational expense.

Through our Zero Cost Energy Future program we are dramatically reducing reliance on the grid reliance and produce the bulk of our required energy through renewable technologies. to effectively manage our long-term energy usage.

Poo Patrol with the Marine Discovery Centre and SA Water

Join Porci as they dive into the fascinating world of poo in the loo. Did you know most of what goes down the toilet is water? Yep, sewage is over 99% H2O. It can even be recycled! SA Water recycles over 30% of our flushed water, which is used to grow bamboo for our pandas Wang Wang and Fu Ni!
