Last chance for 2019 Community Partnerships Program

Time is running out for grassroots community organisations to apply for up to $10,000 funding or in-kind support through SA Water's 2019 Community Partnerships Program, with applications closing soon.  

The exciting program supports local community groups deliver events and projects that aim to foster a better life in local communities across regional and metropolitan South Australia.

SA Water's General Manager Customers, Strategy and Innovation Anna Jackson said successful initiatives would need to align with the corporation's vision to deliver world class water services for a better life.

"Water plays such an important role in society, and beyond its importance to public health and use for fitness and recreational activities, is vital in sustaining employment and economic development in communities across South Australia," Anna said.

"We had some amazing recipients as part of our 2018 program, and with less than one week left before applications close, we hope to hear from as many community groups as possible that are planning events relating to water or water use."

SA Water sponsored 17 unique groups, programs or events from around the state as part of last year's inaugural Community Partnerships Program, ranging from a new disabled bathroom facility at Mount Gambier's McNamara Park race track, to supporting the installation of a water storage tank supplying 27,000 litres of rain water to the Elliston Community Sports Centre.

"Our sponsorship has also helped South Australians living with disability to learn the basics of surfing and water safety as part of Surfing SA's disabled surfing program, and supported a Port Augusta community organisation to deliver hair hygiene and nit treatments to local children," Anna said.  

"So many of our customers and community members have great ideas and already established programs that make a difference to the lives of others, and we'd love to know how we can help."

Applications for our Community Partnerships Program close at midnight on 19 May 2019, with funding for the successful recipients to be made available from July 2019.
