Can:Do 4Kids makes a splash with SA Water

More than 300 clients, families and staff of South Australian children’s charity Can:Do 4Kids have chilled out poolside as part of an event sponsored by SA Water through its Community Partnerships Program.

Held annually, the organisation's recent client pool party allowed families and Can:Do 4Kids therapy staff to come together and enjoy summer while providing a safe and Inclusive environment for children with sensory needs to improve their aquatic skills.

SA Water's General Manager Communications and Engagement Anna Jackson said the event aligned with the corporation's vision of delivering world class water services for a better life.

"So many young people across South Australia benefit from the tremendous work by Can:Do 4Kids, and we're proud to have been a primary partner as well as supplying portable drinking fountains and reusable water bottles," Anna said.

"Can:Do 4Kids is just one of 17 groups we have partnered with for our 2018 Community Partnerships Program, and we look forward to continuing our involvement with events and groups across the state as part of this year's upcoming program."

The charity's Service Manager Grace Kircher said the party was a great success with attendance numbers continuing to grow every year.

"Bringing families together to connect and build a sense of community is something we're passionate about, and the party was a great opportunity for our clients, their siblings, families and staff to get together and have lots of fun in the water," Grace said.

"It's wonderful to see the close and supportive relationships that our families develop, and to see the kids having such a brilliant time together and building lasting friendships was terrific.”

SA Water invites community organisations to apply for the 2019 Community Partnerships Program with applications opening mid-February. The program offers a maximum of $10,000 towards events and programs run by not-for-profit community organisations that demonstrate how water helps to create a better life.
