It’s important to keep much needed moisture in your soil or pot plants by keeping up the mulch. Soil preparation such as applying wetting agents is also important. Make sure you remove weeds regularly as they compete for water in your garden.
If you spend a minimum of $150 on water efficient garden goods you can receive 40% of the purchase price. A maximum rebate of $100 will be paid. Remember - only one garden goods rebate can be claimed per property per financial year. Keep your receipts as they can be collected over a period of two financial years.
Waterwise garden goods include:
- Organic mulch or compost
- Soil wetting agents (including crystal, liquid or granule)
- Tap timers
- Outdoor compost bins
- Rainwater diverters
- Soil moisture sensors or rain sensors
- Irrigation system controllers
- Drip watering system components
- Smart Approved WaterMark products to concentrate water at the root base for plants/trees
For more information on the products available talk to your local nursery and garden centre. This offer is limited to one rebate per property, per financial year. Purchases do not need to be made in one transaction – simply collect your receipts. When shopping for your outdoor water saving products keep an eye out for the Smart Approved WaterMark logo. You will need to provide original copies of the receipts when claiming the rebate.
Eligible garden goods must always be used in conjunction with the current water restrictions in your area.
